Origins Overview!
Wednesday
Set up the Imagining Games and Mythworks Booths.
Imagining Games participated in the retailers and media sneak preview event to show off CHEW: the RPG and all its excellent add-ons like CHEWniverse (the world book)
We headed to our favorite Columbus spot, Tip Top, for good bar food! (hope it never changes)
Thursday
The convention opened up early to the retailers, media, and VIP for the first hour, and we were able to meet some great folks!
The Imagining Games booth was a riot to showcase awesome games like CHEW, Rest in Pieces, Broken Tales, Coloste, and so much more!
In the afternoon, I ran Pico with Mythworks and had a great time with the table in HogWild!
J. Yamil and I set up a playtest for Tales from the Tap Deck and drew some interest and buzz about the game!
Friday
The IG booth was at it again, selling out of Coloste on the second day of the con!
I ran the Wildsea in the afternoon and worked on an adventure with the home game some players had brought. It was great to have such excellent players at the table get their characters and showcase the game in a new light. Home games are why we make games like these; the stories told through them are always great to hear, let alone play in!
Saturday
Working the Myworks booth in the morning was a great experience. It was my first time working with the company. The styles of chatting about games between the two booths made for a fun and diverse weekend! Showing off Glow and Skies of Fire comics was a remarkable change of pace, too! I love comics, and being able to nerd out with them is a treat. Some players from my game stopped by and shared their experience, which is always a great compliment.
The afternoon I ran Understory. The players seemed to enjoy the game and the system, which is always great. I didn't necessarily ask for any feedback for the game, but fun was had, and some folks signed up for news regarding the game.
The evening slid into running CHEW. The Heniteniary, from the CHEWniverse book, is such a fun and wild adventure. Players seem to latch on to the zany influence from the comics. Several players had already purchased the game and were looking forward to experiencing it before they ran their games.
I met up with the Mythworks crew afterward for some Love Balloon!
Sunday
Working the IG booth and the Mythworks booth was a tight schedule. Joe from IG was able to help fill in a little bit and finally allowed me to explore the vendor hall. I was able to grab some Vast Grimm, PirateBorg, and Wildsea books before the hall closed. I also got When the Sky Comes Looking for You by J. Yamil and Glow a comic from Mythworks. Chatting with friends I haven't seen in a while was also great! Monday was a ride home and the end of a long but worthwhile convention!. Now, on to GenCon, in a matter of a few weeks
